Jason Milstien

My piece was inspired by Nikola Tesla and his tesla coil. The point of the Tesla coil was to distribute electricity wirelessly through the air. He was the inventor of many things such as the x-ray, radio and flourecent light bulbs. In his time though he was thought to be eccentric and at times even crazy. In his time he was never givin the recignition he deserved. The power of his mind allowed him to push through preconception and move forward to have some huge accomplishments one of which was at the world fair when Teslas biggest rival and old boss Thomas Eddison lost a contract to light the fair to Tesla. In his haste Eddison  told Telsa he would not be allowed to use his light bulbs. So with his rebellous nature intact Nikola invented his own better more effecient light bulb and lit the fair himself. The piece is about using the power you posess in your mind and how it effects the people around you. The spoon seats reperesent using the power of your mind to effect the physical world around you as well.

  1. Two word: BAD ASS. Though, the writing on the windows and grass makes this piece excellent.

  4. Very interesting. If a spoon can be molded into a seat, the mind should be able to be molded into anything it wants to be.

    Great idea!

  7. I like the face above the doors. The person hands are grabbing or massaging the head, sort of relating to entering a place of knowledge. I think I prefer the pieces done on the glass. Nice work.

  8. I love designs involving electricity. The spoon seats were a great and unique addition. If the bolts of electricity did flashed it would be really cool.

  12. Crazy genius in the best way! Like how the whole sculpture group angles towards the building. Can imagine the bulb lighting up at night. And really appreciate the message it sends about the power of the mind. Tremendous imagination.--Heather
